Big News! Dizzyjam and Cotton Cart become Direct

TL;DR On the 10th of January Dizzyjam is becoming Direct, Cotton Cart migrates on the 17th of January. Your stores will work as before with loads of new features...

Dizzyjam and Cotton Cart have been running for over a decade, and over that time have paid out hundreds of thousands of dollars to tens of thousands of creators. Over the last year we've been working hard behind the scenes on the future of the sites, building a new system from scratch and planning the next decade of developments to help you make more money from what you love!

Today we're finally ready to announce that Dizzyjam and Cotton Cart will become Direct later this month! This is not just a rebrand, we've completely reworked the platform to allow for a range of new features coming later in 2024 and beyond.

The Plan for Direct.app

From day one we already have a load of new features in the platform:

* Faster printing and delivery - up to 3 days faster - thanks to our new automatic distribution system

* A new bulk product creator, so you can create multiple products rapidly from a single design

* 66 new product colors across every product, from a maroon tee, to a military green hoodie and gold sweatshirt, we have you covered!

And that's just the start, in the next three months we're launching these key new features for your merch store:

* Back printing!!! The most requested feature we've had ever

* New product types including high quality, organic base shirts

* Auto-address filling and saved cards for your customers

Beyond that we're expanding the platform with two new areas:

* Downloads: allowing you to sell your music or creative work directly to fans under a pay-what-you-want or fixed price model

* Memberships: so you can build connections with your fans + offer members only download and merch

Our roadmap is now public, you can add and vote for what we work on next right here.

As we go through the migration process here are answers to some key questions, if you have any more questions you can always email our team.

What happens to my Dizzyjam store?

Direct is built on top of the existing Dizzyjam system, so when we make the switch your Dizzyjam profile and products will seamlessly redirect to your new Direct profile. Your email and password will continue to work as before.

What happens to my Cotton Cart store?

With Cotton Cart things are slightly different, we will be migrating Cotton Cart stores into the new Direct platform so the existing Cotton Cart site will run for a little longer until we're ready for the transfer. On the transfer date cottoncart.co.uk and Direct will be taken offline for a short time while we transfer stores and products to the new system. After this tranfer your store URL will redirect to your new profile on Direct. Your email and password will then work as before on direct.app.

When will this transfer happen?

We're aiming to make the Dizzyjam switch by the end of January, our target transfer date is 10th of January. We will keep you updated via the newsletter if things change. For Cotton Cart we're aiming to complete the transfer by the 17th of January.

Will there be any changes to commissions?

No! You will still be paid the same commission on the same schedule (we've actually been using the new commissions system for the last 6 months to get commissions out on time).

What about my embed code?

The existing embed codes have long had problems with scripts being blocked espectially on popular site builders like Wix or Squarespace. As part of the rebuild we've created a dynamic, responsive new embed code that works with all of the top platforms. If you have an existing embed code it will be updated automatically.

We're really excited to share Direct with you and continue to improve the platform to help you make more money doing what you love. Keep an eye on your email for updates over the coming weeks!

The Direct/Aux team.
